Ennama Thozhi

I listened to this song few days back when I was in my cousins place. Aadhav, my cousin’s 6 month old baby boy was crying and my cousin just turned on his CD player to play this song. The moment the song started, Aadhav stopped crying. I was quite astonished at that point of time. The more I listened to this song, the more I love it. Infact, I listen to this song every morning before my day begins. It’s definitely Aadhav’s favourite song and now mine too. The lyrics are simple and capture the innocence of bygone times and I only wish that the song was longer. I have posted the site from where you can download it and I guarantee that you will go crazy about this song if you listen to it.

Thanks Aadhav :-)

Never Imagined …

During the last 25 years, 8 months and 14 days I never imagined that I would wake up on a Monday, get ready for work and cook my own lunch. All you folks out there, who think cooking is simple, trust me it is definitely NOT!!!

All I did today was use the rice cooker to cook rice and mix puliyodharai to it. Later, I realized that there was little curd left at home, which was bought from a near by shop and mixed it too. My lunch is now prepared and ready to be eaten in few hours from now. Sounds very simple isn’t it? Phew .. experience it and get back to me if you haven’t done it already.

Over the weekend, my friends at home did cook lunch (especially Ashwin the genius) and I helped them. It is a little easy when you have ppl around and you help them to cook. Conversely, if you have to do it all by yourself, then all the very best (Y).

Henceforth, I guess I will never be able to cook all alone (I have experienced enough already). However, I cannot really afford to spend 200 Rs everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So, the plan is to help my friends with dinner, cook a little extra and have it for lunch the next day.

I cannot end this blog without mentioning about all you ppl (men / woman) who cook for yourself and your beloved one’s – no words, no gifts, no nothing can express my gratitude.

PS: If you are wondering how I managed my banquet over the last few years – well we had subsidized lunch and dinner at work (13 Rs a meal) which is now withdrawn.

Padikaadhavan – Movie Review

To even think of writing a review for this movie I get a head ache. I am sure you would have guessed how the movie is. Forget about the negatives of the movie – there is just so much that I would take ages to write them and even worse I don’t even want to think about it. However, I can think of some positives:

• Comedy – few and far between
• Tamanna – I wish they had her in all the frames
• Hot chocolate that I had during the intermission – helped reduce my headache (but sadly it got over in 15 mins – so the headache started again)
• Climax (last 5 seconds) – thank GOD it was over

Welcome 2009 :-)

My last few hours of the year 2008 was spent logged onto the net, chatting with friends, checking mails, browing sites. Strangely, since 2001 there has been not much of a difference in that.

When the clock struck 12, I felt different. Something told me that this year will be a eventful one for me. As it turned out, I decided to shave my head off in the morning. Yes, I have a new look already :-)

I don't really set resolutions for myself but decided to take a few this time around. When I get back to Bangalore next wednesday - I am determined to join the gym. Having said that, I wanted to join one since 2005 (just setting lower expectations) :P The other resolutions can't really be disclose ;-)

The start of a new year brings new optimism, belief, faith, hope, vision, mission - a chance to wipe the slate and get a fresh start. Lets carry the good memories and forget the bad one (but not the lesson learnt from them).

I wish everyone a happy and a successful new year.

GOD BLESS !!!
